It’s only fitting how the new savior of the Democrats has quite the shady reputation.
Michael Avenatti, porn star Stormy Daniels’ attorney, has been making bold claims about President Trump. Democrats are even convinced he’s going to take down Trump.
However, a new report reveals Avenatti is being investigated by the California State Bar. He’s also been slammed with accusations ranging from fraud, to pump and dump schemes, to defrauding the government.
As reported by The Daily Caller:
Seattle attorney David Nold filed a complaint against Avenatti on March 26, as The Daily Caller News Foundation previously reported. Nold accused Avenatti of defrauding the state and federal government as the owner of a Seattle coffee chain.
“In essence, he bought a company out of bankruptcy and then used it for a ‘pump and dump’ scheme to deprive federal and state taxing authorities of millions of dollars,” Nold said in the complaint.
An April 18 letter Fox News obtained on Wednesday shows Avenatti is now under investigation. The state bar only launches a “full investigation” if the attorney reviewing the complaint “sees evidence of a serious violation,” according to its website.
“The complaint against attorney Michael J. Avenatti has been reviewed and forwarded to the Enforcement Unit for further investigation and prosecution, if warranted,” the letter states, according to Fox News
Interestingly, Avenatti has been interviewed 147 times by mainstream media outlets over the last 10 weeks. Not once was he questioned on any of his shady history or how he was magically able to pay off huge debts including tax fraud.
Robert Barnes noted: “In January 2018, #Avenatti got an unidentified source of income that allowed him to pay $4.85M to his law firm employees he defrauded, close to $2M in back taxes for payroll taxes on his law firm, and near another $1M to other creditors. Same time as: new client
